Knightshade Taverns (and Inns) are temples to Besgar and Samantha. The
sign outside usually has the silhouette of a male and female halfling, hand
in hand, male leading with dirk drawn, under a cresent moon.
All are welcome, though it is not a place for those who hate Kindiss, halflings,
or hobbits. If you have a problem with a halfling that is between you and him/her. If
you have a problem with halflings ... Lets put it this way: halflings (high
dex creatures) with short composite bows, good at hiding in forests or dark
alleys, found in large numbers if you give them a minute or two. Now toss in
their allies, and halflings get along with most everyone.
Food is, at the very least, good and reasonable priced, more likely to be
great, with higher prices for the exotic stuff. Apple pie is always on the
menu. Some local conditions require that a Faerie Dragon lives on
the grounds or within the Tavern.
Within the tavern ALL goblets and tankards nullify any poison (well,
except alcohol) within it. This is an effect of holy ground, not magical
goblets/tankards.
"Choose your poison" There are a few drinks you can order that come with
poison in them. Yes, Nightshade is one of them. (Just making sure my
halflings have that constitution bonus vs poison...building up a resistance)
Other drinks available:
- Potions of Vitality.
- Potions of Invisibility
- Potions of Regeneration, aka Trolls Blood aka
Halfling Holy Water The description how it historically
has been follows:
Regenerate 1 hp/turn. Duration 7 hours. Potion must
be consumed before death (-10 hp). Potion always lasts for 7 hours.
Duration between points healed depends on the amount consumed. Only
1/2 of a potion consumed regenerates 1hp/2 turns. Known as
Trolls Blood in the Knightshade taverns. Made by the
halfling gods for the halfling people it is also know as
Halfling Holy Water. Halfling Holy Water is clear.
Trolls Blood has color added to it and is ...whatever color
the locals think trolls blood should look like.
Knightshade taverns are thieves guilds and either support a fighters
guild or also functions as a fighters guild (again, the tavern way of
life...bar fights, duels out back, grand stories of epic battles...in
addition to the traditional schooling).
