kolwynia
the key that was lost

dance

historical evidence suggests that there was once a great artifact comprised of eight pieces. these pieces, when assembled properly, could unlock the key to Time. kolwynia’s invoker could unlock an objective event to become subjectively current, regardless whether that event was locked in the subjective past, or locked in the subjective future.
historical evidence suggests that four of the pieces to the Key were lost. the other four pieces of kolwynia survived the closing of the Cycle of History:
  • spear ildana
  • talking sword of lothia
  • eye of timor
  • jade cauldron
historical evidence suggests that kolwynia was assembled and invoked in the Cycle of History.
  • invoked by Bionin, or Byonyn, or Byonin, about whom there are no memoirs save for a cairn of stones called Kolwynia-Bionin on the white sandy beach of Elidor.
historical evidence suggests that only the past may be unlocked after the close of the Cycle of History. kolwynia was assembled and invoked in the Cycle of Dreams.
  • invoked by Trader Vic, best bartender in Worlorn, proprietor of Callahan’s Crosstime Saloon after the founder got himself born again.
  • invoked by Syrinara, the dark angel who was morganti’d by her trusted companion Erin, earning him the name “the Betrayer.”
kolwynia was assembled and invoked in the Cycle of Dance.

historical evidence suggests that the secrets of kolwynia are known to tiresias, on the first of the dragon isles, called Elidor outside the Cycle of History.
